That would make Mrs. Pratt, her sister mentioned in her obituary, to be Bertha Calvey. Since Virginia Temple died in 1884 with the childbirth of Bertha, I think she was taken in by her grandparents. While that does not solve the claim in 1900 for her mother's birthplace as MD, it seems to make the most sense. She was enumerated as Mary Temple in 1885 in the household of Henry C. and Ann E.
