His parents were from MA (father) and IN (mother), except in 1900, when they were both from IA.

As Frank Henry Temple of the WWI draft registrations, he is definitely the son of Henry C. and Ann E. Wright. His WWI draft registration named the wife of Frank Barnhart as his next of kin, as she was his sister. That person was Bertha, ae 36 in 1920, b SD, and her parents were from MA (father) and IA (mother). Frank and Bertha Barnhart had a son named Temple, b 1910 IA. In the 1920 census, they were living next to Anna O. Temple, who was single, ae 59, and Anna's sister, Mary R. Lawrence, ae 70, who was a widow. Both of the latter sisters were b IA, with parents born in MA (father) and IN (mother).

His presence is somewhat odd, since Frank Oliver was indeed with the family as a son in 1870, and again in 1880. In 1880, the person who later registered for the WWI draft was named Earle, not Frank Henry. By 1900 and thereafter, however, he was Frank Henry. His parents were both from MS. He was enumerated two doors from Eugene Temple in 1930, and may well be his brother, making him a son of Robert Chester and Frances (Sumrall) Temple. His nickname comes from the obituary of his daughter Mary Helen. Given in cemetery records, his brother Charley's obituary in 1971, and on his gravemarker as D.F. "Bud" Temple.

I suspect he is a sibling or cousin of Thomas Eugene Temple. Doll's daughter married a Sturdivant, as did Thomas Colman Temple, son of Thomas Eugene. Their children were both in Franklin Parish and born within a year of each other. If they weren't cousins or siblings, their children may have married cousins or siblings. Or both could be true. Another coincidence, if it is that, was that Doll's father-in-law was Sol Frank, and Martin Pinkney and Mary Catherine (Hollifield) Temples had a son, b 1906, whose given name was Sal-Frank. The unusual nature of the name may indicate affinity of some sort, and further underscores he is a cousin, in the same generation, as Sal-Frank. That indicates a close relationship with the Cockrell family as well.

It seems pretty clear that Frank K. and Sal-Frank were the same person, based on the 1920 census.

The corrections are from family who were there at the time of the altercation.
Young Fred K. Temple, son of Frank Leeman Temple, was wanted for the theft of a second-hand bicycle, the specific date for that is currently unknown. He and his father both left for Port Huron, MI, before Fred could be arrested. They stayed with family in the states.
After giving things time to cool down, the father and son returned, only to find that the family had moved from their Nolan Street address and relocated to 17 Queen Street.
On the morning of 7 May 1934, after locating the new family home, Fred decided to take a walk around the courthouse neighborhood. While walking, he was spotted by a citizen who recognized him and notified the police.
Constable Colin Clair McGregor was just finishing up his shift when Sergeant Sam McKeown and Bert McCully (who was a railroad police officer) asked MacGregor to come along and help apprehend Fred. (The newspaper reports said they were intending to execute criminal arrest warrants on both Fred and his father as part of an investigation into the bicycle theft.
McKeown and McCully went to the front door while MacGregor, by this time off-duty, went to the back.
MacGregor came through the back and caught Fred sitting at the kitchen table and put his hands on Fred’s shoulders, holding him down in the chair. Ssome say that there was a gun on the kitchen table by Fred but not in his hands, and, he didn't have time to grab it because MacGregor was too quick on sneaking in behind him.
McKeown and McCully were met at the front by Frank, Jr., and Dorothy, who had answered the door.
Frank, Sr., came out of the side room with 2 pistols (reported to be a .45 and a .38 ) and told the police to let them leave and there wouldn’t be any problems.
They refused. McKeown pulled his revolver and all hell broke loose. (The newspaper account had some hand-to-hand fightiing described, but the accuracy is not known.)
Fred was shot through the neck and MacGregor was shot in the stomach. MacGregor's wound was fatal and he died the next day.
MacKeown was shot through the wrist and Frank, Sr., still with a .38 revolver, ran like a scared rabbit out of the house and hid in a machine shop on Centre Street until dark.
Fred was dragged out into Queen Street and laid on the sidewalk to bleed out, but somehow managed to survive the bullet through his neck.
The family's account holds that Fred didn’t fire a shot and didn’t have a gun. Frank, Sr., was the perpetrator of all of the drama, and it cost him and and his son their lives - all for a second-hand bicycle. He died on 27 June 1935 at the age of 53 in St. Thomas, Elgin, Ontario, Canada.^96662,96663 Hanged for the killing of policeman Colin McGregor. Buried in Holy Angels' Cemetery, St. Thomas, Elgin, Ontario. His death notice gave 1873, but other research puts it in 1882. As far as is known, he never used his father's surname. He also used McTemple and MacTemple to avoid the police.

A family story has it that the incident with the bicycle was not an isolated one. A local historian who had pieced together Franks and his son Fred's stories was trying to get Fred exonerated for being at the wong place at the wrong time. But bicylcles were involved in Frank's criminal endeavors. The historian said that they were stealing bicycles in Canada and riding them to the US via the bridge to sell, and then stealing bicycles in the US and riding them back to Canada to sell. No proof was offered - and this was a popular joke in later decades dealing with the US southern border - so its authenticity is unknown. However, Frank and Fred were associated with the theft of at least one bicycle, which kicked off the unfortunate set of circumstances leading to their executions. Parents: John H.
