He immigrated in 1660.^1966,32419 He died on 28 January 1720/1 at the age of 92 in Concord, Middlesex, MA.³²⁴²⁰ Insight into a possible confusion of Thomas Estabrooks comes from the research of Dorothy Chapman Saunders, Ph.D., in her essay on "The Easterbrook/Estabrooke Family of Warren, RI." The appropriate sections are included below:

"Thomas Estabrooke was born probably ca 1629-1630 and died as Insin Thomas Estabrooke at Swansea, MA on 14 April 1713 "being above 80th years of age," per the Vital Records of Swansea. He was buried in Kickemuit Cemetery, now in Warren, RI. His gravestone is partly illegible, which has resulted in two different ages at his death having been published. Agreeing with the Vital Records Swansea is the Genealogies of RI Families, 1989, Vol. 1, p. 445, which says his gravestone has "aged about 84 years." Torrey says he d 1713 ae 64? Since he was an inhabitant of Rehoboth, MA on 10 Dec 1666, and signed the agreement of the Swansea Church on 12 Feb 1669, it is more likely that he was born ca 1629 than in 1649.

"He married Sarah WOODCOCK, per Torrey, by 1667, and he was one of the first fifty-five inhabitants of Swansea on 22 Feb 1669. On 9 Feb 1670 he was listed in their second rank, but in 1681 Ensign Thomas Estabrooke and his heirs were granted the 'full right and interest of the highest rank' of the inhabitants. That part of Swansea where he settled became Barrington, RI, and then on 27 Jan 1746/7 it was incorporated into the town of Warren, RI. The freemen of Warren in 1747 included Nathaniel Estabrooke, John Estabrooke Jr, William Esta Brooke, and John Esta Brooke.

"There is confusion in the literature concerning Thomas Estabrooke. W.B. Estabrook's Genealogy of the Estabrook Family, 1891, omitted one of his sons entirely, and therefor listed his son's descendants as those of his other sons. He also omitted a number of these descendants. Savage treated as identical Thomas of Swansea and a Thomas Estabrook of Concord, MA, who married there on 11 Mar 1683 Sarah Temple. An article by William Jones, 'The Children and Grandchildren of Thomas Estabrooke of Swansea, MA,' reprinted in Genealogies of RI Families, 1989, Vol. 1, p. 445-447, separated the two Thomases and named the children of Thomas and Thomas of Swansea. The will of Thomas Easterbrook of Swansea, yeoman, dtd 4 Nov 1710 and pvd 4 May 1713, did not mention a wife, but he named sons John and Thomas Eastabrook; daughters Elizabeth Bozworth and Sarah Eddy; and unnamed grandsons and granddaughters."

Sarah appeared in the census in June 1900 in Parker Co., TX.³²⁴³⁷ In April 1910 she was a dress maker in Weatherford, Parker, TX.³²⁴³⁸ She appeared in the census in January 1920 in Weatherford, Parker, TX.¹⁴³⁶⁵ Sarah appeared in the census in April 1930 in Parker Co., TX.³²⁴³⁶ She appeared in the census in April 1940 in Weatherford, Parker, TX.³²⁴³⁹ She lived Palo Pinot street in Weatherford, Parker, TX in March 1941.³²⁴³⁵ Sarah died on 31 March 1941 at the age of 74 in Weatherford, Parker, TX.^{1578,9950,32435,32441,32442} Died at home of apoplexy, but she had been in ill health for several years and seriously ill her last three weeks. The History of Texas indicated she died in 1908, but clearly she did not, and the proof is from the Temple Family Bible. Her death certificate says she died 31 Mar, but the Bible says 30 Mar. Her obituary in the Greenville Sun was late, indicating her death on Monday, 14 Apr 1941. Buried in Cresson Cemetery, Cresson, TX. Her parents were from KY (father) and NC (mother). In 1900, she claimed 2 children, both of whom survived, but this seems an enumerator error. By 1910, she had had 2 children, one of whom survived. Appears as Bessie in 1920. She was the youngest of 12 children in her family.
Her obituary was a bit unclear, but said she was the "first cousin of the late Mr. Bud Temple," giving no more details about who he was and where he lived. While this database has several Temples nicknamed Bud, none were found (with the current level of data) to have been connected to either Bessie or her husband as cousins. Parents: Dr. John H.
