He has reference number RLT # U1976.25932 Research by Faith Stern, descendant of Jacob Loy Jr. and Susannah Temple (Peter Temple's sister), revealed George's existence, and possibly identified him as the same person, or as the brother of, a John Coon Temple. She wrote: "In the will of Michael Temple written in 1820 and probated in Feb 1830. He mentions a beloved grandson John Coon Temple to whom he leaves $10 when he is of age. I have only seen transcripts of the will which read John Boon Temple. I think this is a misreading. I am also wondering if this child is actually John George Coon Temple. I note that in April 1817 George Coon Temple, an orphan and one of the sons and heirs at law of Peter Temple is committed to Christian Coon until he reaches the age of 14. Christian Coon is Rachel's brother who was born in 1789. The wording suggests that there may have been two sons, George and John, but so far I have found no evidence of this. Peter Temple died intestate. The administrators of his estate were Christian Coon, Michael Temple Jr., and Samuel McClure." The Michael Temple mentioned was Peter's brother. Parents: Peter TEMPLE-21446 and Rachel COON-26028.

Spouse: Margaret BUFFINGTON-113542. Margaret BUFFINGTON and George Coon TEMPLE were married on 15 April 1841 in Butler Co., OH.455,17856 Children were: John TEMPLE-113544, Peter TEMPLE-99860.

In 1900, the date was given as Nov 1898. He appeared in the census in June 1900 in Davidson Co., TN.11692,18797 He appeared in the census in April 1910 in Davidson Co., TN.18797,18798 George lived 64 Bell Street in Columbus, Franklin, OH in 1917.90750 He served in the military in 1917/8.60406,90750,92021 Enlisted 2 Jun 1917 at Columbia Barracks, Columbus, OH. He lived 2304 Kline Avenue in Nashville, Davidson, TN in 1924.92022 He and his brother Tillman were living together with their families. In April 1930 he was a restaurant worker in Nashville, Davidson, TN.60405 George lived 1709 6th Avenue North in Nashville, Davidson, TN in 1938.89181 He died on 19 May 1938 at the age of 42 in Nashville, Davidson, TN.60407 Died of serious complications from a cerebral thrombosis involving the optic nerve, including gangrene and septicemia, and inactive tubercular syphillis. Buried in the National Cemetery, Nashville, TN, Plot: SECTION BB SITE 16953. Appears variously as George and Crittenden. Middle initial in 1930 was T. Middle name on his death certificate was Gerald. He was the informant on his brother Tillman's death certificate in Jun 1937.

There are two George Temples of similar dates. The Find-A-Grave reading of whatever information they got was well off the mark according to his 1938 death certificate. Find-A-Grave says he died 19 Jan 1936 and was buried in Central State Hospital Cemetery, Nashville, TN. The George who died in 1936 died of a pulmonary tuberculosis. The one in 1938 died of serious complications from a cerebral thrombosis involving the optic nerve, including gangrene and septicemia, and inactive tubercular syphilis. His death certificate said his body was assigned to the National Cemetery in Nashville, TN. The one who d 1936 resided in Lafayette, TN, but died in Nashville. The one who died in 1938 died in Nashville as well. The confusion may stem from both Georges having a father who went by Will according to the different death certificate informants. George, who d 1936, had a mother given as Bettie Dismang, while the George who d 1938, had a mother unknown to the informant. Parents: Charles Liston (Liston) TEMPLE-34864 and Mary Elizabeth (Elizabeth) BYBEE-56132.

In 1930, Emma claimed she was 17, so depending on what her birth year actually was, that would place the date between 1916 and 1921. Together, that narrows the range to 1918-1921, meaning her first child with Crittenden was either Elizabeth or Tillman. Children were: Elizabeth Myona TEMPLE-84653, Tillman H. Temple. The back went under as a consequence of the Civil War, but all was not smooth going during the bank's operation. Apparently George's wife was an abolitionist, but Henn's wife was a Copperhead, and they actually fought in public over their views, which seemed to polarize the female population of Fairfield, OH.
