Died at her home, 23 West State Street, Feb.6th, After an Illness of Two Weeks

Susan L. Temple, widow of the late Hiram Temple, died at her home, 23 West State Street, Tuesday, Feb. 6th 1923, after an illness of two weeks of influenza.

The deceased was born Feb. (illegible) 1840 at Busti, and was the daughter of Arthur P. Nichols and Amanda Allen Nichols. Her late husband, Hiram Temple, died March 23, 1922. Mrs. Temple is survived by one son, Arthur and one daughter Charlotte Temple. Also by one brother, Perry A Nichols of Lakewood, N.Y., three grandchildren, Ralph Temple of Andover, Dean Temple of Huntington, W. Va., H. Lyle Temple of Wellsville, and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Temple was a member of the M.E. church of Sugar Grove, PA. A prayer service was held at the home, Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, the Rev. E.A. Mathews officiating, and the body was taken on train 7 to Jamestown. Burial at Ashville N.Y.

FUNERAL OF SUSAN TEMPLE
The funeral of Susan L Temple was held Thursday afternoon from the Ashville M.E. church. Rev. W.O. Brainard, pastor of the church officiated. Music was provided by Mr. & Mrs. Merritt Baker. The bearers were: Arthur Temple, Clyde Nichols, F.B. Bennison (maybe a typo ? possibly Dennison), and A.C. Swart. The interment was in the Maple Grove cemetery at Ashville. Present from away at the services were Mr. & Mrs. Clyde Nicols of Erie, Pa and Arthur Temple and Miss Lottie Temple of Wellsville. Her parents were both from NY. Middle initial in 1900 was M.
