There was a William Henry Temple who married Josephine E. Phillips in North Mountain, PA, but they were not Sarah's parents, had no daughter named Sarah, and had children much after James and Catherine did. There was another combination with a possible connection to George Snyder, and they were Henry Herman Temple b Penn Twp. in Lycoming Co., who married Sarah Jane Snyder, b Lycoming Co. However, they also were not parents of a Sarah, though their children were closer to the age of George Snyder's wife. However George got confused, he confused Sarah's parents. It may be that he never knew her parents, given the date of their marriage, so his information might have been all second hand and too long before Sarah's death for his recall. In 1900, she claimed 7 children, of whom 5 survived. However, her claim of 7 children, the regular spacing of the five known Duff children starting in 1878 after her marriage to Basil, indicate that Jennie had to be one of the 7, and the date makes her a Paddock. Burgess Duff, named for Sarah's brother, is more of a problem, and could well be a Paddock, but his birth date was not known. Since he did not appear in the 1880 census, I assume he died early, or was born after 1880. Since he did not appear in the 1900 census, I again assume he died before 1900.
