The identity of Persis is an enigma. However, I suspect that she was the same Persis, with the last name of Beaman, that married Dr. Amariah Bigelo in West Boylston in 1781 (Bigelo Family genealogy, p. 109.) Bigelo died in 1790, following which Persis married John Temple. The Vital Records of Boylston indicate that a John Temple married Persis Bigelow 21 Mar 1793. I have been unable to find the information that would identify Persis Wood as Persis Beamn, however. Possibly her maiden name was Wood, and she married and was widowed by a Beaman, or vice versa.
