There were only two Thomases b 1857 OH in the 1860 census, and neither is a perfect fit for him. There were no Thomases in 1860 with such a birth date in IA. Only one Thomas was found in 1870 born near 1866 in OH, and he was Thomas Dixon Temple, Sr. In 1880, another candidate popped up in Marion, OH, son of William and Agnes Temple, but he was Thomas Jefferson Temple.
