The inventory was made by George and Jeremiah Opdycke, and the will was sworn to by Gooden Hall and Isaac Barber. He is probably the father or a close relative of Rachel Temple, who married Isaac Barber. His presence in Hunterdon Co., NJ, is confirmed by his wife's grave marker. The apparent timing and that location suggest he was the son of Timothy and Sarah (Hart) Temple of Hopewell, NJ, but in any case, he would be of the line of Abraham and Phoebe Temple of Concord, MA and later Ewing, NJ, probably as one of their grandchildren.

I raised this year about 110 bushels of wheat, 200 of corn, 100 of potatoes and beans. I call that doing well for the first year, don't you?" He later went by Timothy as in his WWII draft registration where he was Timothy Langdon Temple based on identical birth month and year, location, and employment, and his draft registration claim that his next of kin was Mrs. John A. Temple of Williamsport, PA.
