There appears to be a link among two or all three of the James Temples who were in TN in 1880. The first married Sarah Allen in 1875 and had two sons, William in 1888 and Samuel Edward in 1893. There was another James Temple, possibly the same one, who married a Sarah before 1877 and lived in Shelby Co. in 1880, and had a daughter in 1877 and a son in 1881. The third James was in Shelby Co., TN and married a Wilson before 1892, and had a son named Edward Samuel in 1892 (who may be the smae person as Samuel Edward Temple).

Although Earl was a carpenter and built several houses in Fort Collins, on 9 Feb 1899, the Boulder Herald and the Fort Collins Courier reported he was returning to Fort Collins to take care of his cattle to protect them from the cold. This is an indicator because Joseph R. Temple was a cattleman.

Another clue, however, is that he named a daughter Alma Almeda and nicknamed her Meda. Percy N. Temple, of OH, married an Almeda (Meda). This might mean that the families were close.
