However, the timing for her children is entirely wrong. Her son Carey, with whom she was living at least by 1911, there was apparently a different husband for Mary (probably a father and son confusion here). By 1900, she had had 5 children, all of whom survived. She made no claim about children in 1910. Her information has gotten confused with her mother-in-law.

Mary died on 3 January 1952 at the age of 91 in Onondaga, Onondaga, NY.^5570,5573 Her husband claimed she died in 1900, but this proved not to be the case. Something serious occurred to her family before 1900. Her husband claimed he was a widower, and her daughter Rose ended up in a shelter for unprotected girls. She was next found on her own with her daughter Lucy in 1905. The next time they were found, Mary Anne was living with her daughter Rosetta and her husband in 1940. Since her husband died in 1934, I can only surmise some sort of serious breakup of the family, with some later renewing of ties among at least two of them. Her maiden name may have started with S, as this was her middle initial in 1905.

Mary fits somewhere in the lineage from Major and Mary Jane (Kennedy) Temple, as evide3nced by her relationship with Scotia Hume in 1870.
