He looks very much like the John Tempel b 1883, parents both from Germany, born in IA and moved to SD, given as John Tempel, husband of Anna. However, the differences in his wife and the conflict with the children of the two men, and different enumerations in SD in 1920, make it difficult to conclude they are the same person.
