As the car approached the Passaic River bridge in Chatham Twp. linking Union and Morris counties, police said it apparently sped down a brief but straight hill, darted across the opposite lane and struck a one-foot thick fieldstone abutment with such impact the wall was ppushed back six inches. Its front end demolished, police said the car rebounded across the bridge into its original lane, slammed into an abutment, and rolled 32 feet down the bridge before striking the guardrail. Buried in St. Teresa's Cemetery, Summit, NJ, with her parents, but she is not in Find-A-Grave with them as of 2021. One of her survivors was Mrs. Sarah Britton of Bernardsville, NJ, her grandmother, but her obituary did not say which side the of family. Parents: James Milton TEMPLE-48601 and Margaret E. The 1940 census offered two George and Margaret Clarks in NE and rougly the same age which did not deconflict them. However, the 1940 census confirmed that this Margaret Temple, daughter of Ellsworth and Grace (Smith) Temple, was still married to Lawrence Bigler in 1940.
