There are two Harford County, Maryland families with similar children names and dates, which is confusing. Mary A. was enumerated as the mother of these children in 1910, and Lorenza was mother of the other family. This may indicate one man with two wives, but the dates of the children's births overlap.

His parents were both from PA. He seems in all likelihood to be Samuel A. Temple who married Mary Smithson Onion - his parents. However, the ages he and Mary gave in 1880, and the ages Mary reported in later censuses, indicate that they are 20 years younger than the latter people. I don't understand the discrepancy, but have represented the relationship as it would seem based on the ages in 1880. The problem is, that he never appeared in any census as the son of Samuel A and Mary (Onion) Temple.
