His birth at that date and his death in 1916 reflect data from the Early County Historical Society's reading of the Blakely City Cemetery plots. Gave his age as 28 in 1880, and his birth date as Jun 1844 in 1900. However, a Find-A-Grave reading of his marker puts the date in 1860. The discrepancy is unexplained. He appeared in the census in June 1880 in Early Co., GA.³⁷⁹⁸ He appeared in the census in June 1900 in Blakely, Early, GA.⁶⁹⁸² He was unemployed at the time of the census and claimed no occupation. Manning died on 31 March 1916 at the age of 71 in Blakely, Early, GA.¹³¹² Buried in Blakely City Cemetery, Blakely, GA. His given birth dates varied wildly, and he may very well have been the same Manning Temples who married Sarah (Sallie) and appeared in the 1910 census in Blakely. There simply were no other Manning Temples, with any variation of the given name, in GA from 1850-1910, and they never appeared together or nearby each other. While the husband of Sarah (Sallie) is presented here as the son of Andrew and Judy Temples, there is uncertainty due to the very wide range of birth dates claimed for him.

His parents were both from GA in 1900. I am pretty sure he is a son of Andrew and Bethany (Kelly) Temple(s), but I do not know which one. He falls right between Seaborn and James. I favor the possibility that his name is James Manning Temple(s) - and that he was the James enumerated with Andrew and Bethany Temple(s) in 1850. However, I have no evidence that he had a first name of James.

There was a Manning Temples, son of Andrew and Judy Temple, who died in Blakely, GA in1 916 - but his birth year was 1860.
