The birth dates are mutually exclusive, and it appears that the error is combining Leonard A. and Leonard's data. I believe the one with Ramsey A. and Allie S. Temples in Philippi Cemetery is Ramsey A. Jr, given as Leonard, and that Leon A. in the Mount of Olives Cemetery is actually Ansel. However, their birth dates are given in 1910 as 1906 for Ansel, and 1908 from Ramsey. The story of Ranse's apparent murder can be found in the Atlanta Constitution, 29 Oct 1903, p. 3 (research on this provided by Cherri Watson). At the time of his death, he was living at Hair Landing near the mouth of the Chattahoochee River (near Columbus, GA), where his son, Ben, had a store and fishing outfit. On or about 22 Oct, Ranse came to visit his son. Ben left his father in charge of the business for a few days when word reached him that his father had disappeared. According to the news article, someone near the landing found a trail indicating a body had been dragged towards the river. This led to the suspicion that foul play was involved, as it was known that Ranse had a lot of money with him. As far as is known, however, his body was never found or identified.
