Though records show she was married to Joseph Hale in May 18709, and had a daughter Mary by him, she was not married at the time of the June 1870 census. The other Martha was b 1827, MS, and was either the sister, cousin or niece of the same Hency C. Temple. In the latter case, she does appear again in the census, and di not appear to be married after the 1870 census.
